The article examines improving SME resilience using social network analysis and systemic modeling to develop and simulate a conceptual model.
Resilience is difficult for SMEs due to their structural limitations. This article models how these perspectives can stabilize SMEs using control. We adopted a systemic approach with linear modeling. First, social network analysis (SNA) was used to review SME resilience literature, identify similar groups, and inform our model. Second, a causal loop diagram was used to develop a conceptual model. Third, system dynamics were used to simulate scenarios. Our findings show that resilience in SMEs depends on feedforward, buffering, and feedback controls, requiring continuous coordination between operations and management.
