The research examines the innovation capacity of Wayuu crafts, crucial for addressing socio-economic challenges.
The indigenous Wayuu community in Colombia and Venezuela possesses a rich cultural heritage but faces challenges such as limited resources, leading to issues like infant mortality and malnutrition. While crafts are a primary source of income, they often fall short of meeting basic needs. This research analyzes the innovation capacity of Wayuu crafts using factors developed by Naidu, Chand, and Southgate. It identifies current strengths and areas for development, aiming to foster social entrepreneurship within the community to address socio-economic issues without compromising cultural identity.
