Beating Fear

Fear can control our lives unless we control it...
For such a small word, fear, can have a big impact on our lives. Each morning, individuals are faced with the challenge to capture their dreams or remain in the same situation. The choices people make are sometimes dictated by fear:-afraid of change
-afraid to lose what you already accomplished
-afraid of failure
-afraid you are not good enough
-afraid you do not have the skills or knowledge
Some fears can be unhealthy fears that you cannot do anything about like the fear of growing older. An individual cannot stop aging or the passage of time. Other fears can be healthy fears that you can change or cause you to take action. A healthy fear might be getting cancer from smoking. Quitting smoking can help you resolve this fear. Overcoming any fear is all about changing your mindset, infusing positive thoughts and getting rid of excuses.
In reality people can either make excuses or make changes. By analyzing our excuses, many times we find inconsistencies and untruths. We can always find someone or something else to fault, but we need to acknowledge these excuses and unhealthy fears and eliminate them.
By creating a T-chart with the pros and cons of change, we can begin to put our fears aside. This type of knowledge and planning helps eliminate fears. By gathering as much knowledge as possible through research, networking and experiences, change is possible. Even if the initial step ends in failure, you still have gained knowledge. Failure can lead to success by going in a new direction. Enjoy the adventure!
