Nature's Gifts! What an accomplishment!

We were at Fairmont Empress yesterday, taking some much needed time for a mini-vaca day.
The tulips, while they were fading, reminded me that no matter how old you get to be in life, there is always something to accomplish. These flowers made me smile yesterday with gratitude. They had seen their prime, and they had accomplished what they set out to do. And that was to bring a smile, to offer love, and to shine.
The beauty of aging, is that nothing is a race anymore. You don’t “have” to do anything you don’t want to, and accomplishment takes on a whole new meaning in your later years. And….you still accomplish things, beautifully.
Young people are multi taskers, they get things done quickly, and sometimes, miss the important details of that accomplishment.
As the population ages, people become more thoughtful about what they want to do. It takes more time to do things, and I think that is the nature of life.
The race is over, but the grace, love and kindnesses of life have the opportunity to take the lead.
And isn’t that what we all wish for? To be remembered as someone who had no need to hurry, someone who didn’t need to prove that they had accomplished something and someone who made a small difference just by being?
Yes, these beautiful flowers, even though they were in their last days of beauty, took my breath away. Those who know me, know how much I love Tulips of all kinds.
My message for you today is this. You may be wrinkled, walk with a limp, but no matter what, your soul, your heart and your love are what is precious in this world. What do you still want to accomplish?
Big or small, the accomplishment, is in doing things in your own time. No need to hurry, it will all get done when it is meant to. Smiles across the miles.
