Nurture Friendships Outside Of Your Relationship

Love is wonderful and unfortunately, people often think that their partner is supposed to fill ALL of their needs.
Love is wonderful and unfortunately, people often think that their partner is supposed to fill ALL of their needs. Your life shouldn’t revolve around your partner and you don’t need to be joined at the hip to have an awesome relationship. Rather, remember that it is a partnership and each one of you is an individual with your own thoughts, needs, goals, and friends. Having friends outside of your relationship helps you stay true to who you are. You’ll be a better spouse and a happier person.
It’s important, of course, to encourage your partner to have friends, activities, hobbies and volunteer work, outside of your relationship.
When you create new friendships and nurture old ones, you create the opportunity to learn about their heritage, food, interests, and culture. In doing so, it may create a whole new world of interests such as their architecture, foods, family traditions and rituals.
When you come to the end of the day, and reconnect with your partner, there will be much to talk about.
In an empowered, stable and connected relationship, these conversations at the end of the day, can be very very powerful in creating new excitement and learning within your own relationships.
No couple needs to be joined at the hip. It’s so much nicer to come together as an interdependent couple rather than a co dependent one.
The fact is that co dependence in a relationship makes it tough to sustain it.
Find your tribe, and spend time with like minded people.
It’s lovely to share your day with your partner at the end of the day.
Blessings,
Caterina
