Studies have shown that being positive leads to greater success, boosts strategic thinking, creativity & relationships. Here's 5 ways to start.
Who couldn’t stand to have a little more positivity and success in their lives? After all, positivity naturally leads to greater success. It elevates our ability to think strategically, improve creativity, relationships and overall health. Having a positive outlook can literally change your life! Here are 5 simple, and practical things you can start doing right now that will have a huge impact on your personal and professional life.
1. Always be thankful
Use every situation as an opportunity to practice thankfulness. Find a reason, any reason, to be thankful. Over time, developing a sense of thankfulness – in even the worst circumstances – will help your mind handle negative situations more thoughtfully and compassionately. Dealing with those kinds of frustrating situations with greater clarity and patience will inevitably lead to better outcomes for everyone.
2. Sometimes, silence is better than being right

3. Do what you love, and never give up
We’ve all heard the adage “follow your passion and you’ll never work a day in your life”. Sadly this saying is hardly true. There is a reason the word “Passion” has two meanings – pleasure and pain. Sometimes, following your passion is going to be just plain, hard work. Keep at it, knowing you’ll find the pleasure – and success – when you do!
4. It’s okay to be afraid – but don’t let it stop you
Perspective is the result of letting go of your fears, just long enough, to experience the possibility of success. Fear is necessary. It keeps you alive. It keeps you out of trouble. Maybe, it keeps you employed. But DON’T let it keep you from gaining the perspective you need to make a smart decision. Even if it means taking small risks each day, reaching out just a little further than your comfortable with, to see what opportunity may lie ahead.
5. Be present in the moment – but look to the future for what’s coming next
Studies have shown that self-awareness – or Mindfulness – is a predictable marker for people considered to be highly successful business managers. Equally important, is having an eye on the horizon. Practicing mindfulness will improve your ability to quickly adapt and deliver when things inevitably go wrong. Always keep perspective on where you are – grounded in the knowledge of who you are, and why you are – ensuring you can weather anything life throws your way.
