Gratitude for the past , positive and dynamic Acceptance in the present and right Aspirations for the future are important for inner peace & happiness
Three ways to develop unlimited inner peace & happiness:
1. Develop “Gratitude” for all the benevolence we have received, and that we are receiving from the external sources, people and nature in this universe. Understand our inability to repay this benevolence for ever. Get into the habit of writing Gratitude list at the end of every day. Never fail to recognize and show your Gratitude in every possible situation in life. This will make us feel humble and calm. We would then be in a position to attain unlimited inner peace & happiness. There are some successful corporates that have " Gratitude" as one of their corporate policies.
2. Understand what positive, active and dynamic “Acceptance” in the present is. Do not get into the habit of negative or passive acceptance that would demotivate you. Adapt intelligently instead of subjecting yourself to forceful compromise. This practice will contain one’s ego to a great extent. Since inflated ego is one of the important factors causing stress and unhappiness, powerful acceptance of situations gives the necessary impetus to reduce one’s ego thereby increasing chances or reaching unlimited inner peace & happiness.
3. “Aspirations” towards higher ideals should replace purely selfish desires and pursuits. When we inculcate higher ideals and values, lower values will automatically fall off. Following unselfish desires will enlarge one’s perspective of the world. We can then understand the joy of giving, joy of sharing and the joy of living a more purposeful life. In fact the more we give the more we will get. It is perfectly suitable in a corporate environment as much as in our personal lives. Take the example of two sales persons A & B, who are selling the same products. Let us assume A looks at customers’ problems and seeks to find solutions through his products, whereas B is only interested in meeting his sales targets, come-what-may. We do not need rocket science to know who among the two sales people would be successful in the long run and therefore who would be having unlimited inner peace & happiness.
