Water, water everywhere (but we never drink enough!)

The health benefits of water are virtually endless, but so many of us struggle to drink enough! Learn about some of the benefits here.
We are soooo fortunate to have such easy access to clean water. I learned so much about this back in 2011 when my friend Georgie Badiel and I started a foundation to drill water wells in her home country of Burkina Faso. (She is still rocking and providing access to clean water for thousands of people through her non-profit, The Georgie Badiel Foundation.)
I think, though, that this easy access makes us take water for granted and we forget just how important it is to our health. I hear it all the time from both clients and friends (usually with a wave of the hand and a roll of the eyes), “Yeaahhh, I know I need to drink more water. I’m just so bad at it!” For this reason, I just sent out a newsletter this morning with tips for how to get more water in your life. (PS – You can subscribe here if you want access to that weekly content. Almost all of my newsletter content is reserved for subscribers.) But for the blog, I wanted to briefly highlight what staying hydrated can do for you. So, here goes:
DID YOU KNOW?
Drinking water & staying hydrated can:
-help you feel more satiated
-help you think more clearly
-lubricate your joints
-ensure your body gets delivered the nutrients it needs
-reduce constipation
-help prevent headaches
-help stabilize blood pressure
-help you feel more energized
-prevent cramping
-help ensure proper organ function
And that’s a small list.
So in those moments where you’re feeling tired or like you can’t think clearly…if you have a headache or cramping or are having trouble going to the bathroom….take a step back and ask yourself, “Might this be as simple a fix as drinking a glass of water?”
In a place where we are so fortunate to have an abundance of clean water at our finger tips, there’s no reason to let your health and quality of life suffer. Don’t take it for granted!
And if you want to help others who don’t have that blessing of clean water, check out Georgie’s foundation and support if you can. She does amazing work and, truly, water is a basic right we should all have at our finger tips. As she always says, “Water is life.”
