The Power of Affirmations

This is an excerpt from my book Happy, Healthy, Worthy Wealthy Woman. Affirmations truly are powerful- a great way to change your mindset and results!
Affirmations are empowering words that declare how you want to feel or to be, or what you want to do or have. You could use an affirmation such as, “I am a happy, healthy, worthy, wealthy woman”. Some people call them mantras.
When I left my last Mr. Wrong, I felt hopeless, washed up, and broken. I believed that nobody would ever love me again. The more I affirmed I was hopeless, washed up and broken, the more hopeless, washed up, and broken I felt.
I changed it up, and instead of affirming negativity, I started saying what I wanted for my life. The affirmation that I started with was, “I am a worthy, wealthy woman”. I felt better. When I caught myself going into the negative tirade in my mind, I repeated it, and eventually I became what I affirmed.
Affirmations work if we believe they will. We create new neural pathways when we change our thought patterns. It is believed that we think on average 50,000 to 70,000 thoughts a day ― with most thoughts being repeated over and over again. So don’t expect that saying an affirmation two or three times will change your belief system. It requires constant repetition. Make them simple, uplifting, believable, positive and present tense. Neuroscience shows that the brain gets bored with repeating the same words over and over; so change them up regularly. Here are some you might like to try:
• I am Awesome, Beautiful and Courageous.
• I am lovable just as I am.
• The Universe always provides for me.
• Everything comes to me easily and effortlessly.
• I am where I am meant to be; perfectly on my path.
• As I let my light shine, I allow others to shine.
• I am healed, whole and healthy.
• I am a worthy, wealthy woman.
• I am a happy, healthy, worthy, wealthy woman.
Try them! I promise you that they’ll make you feel better. They’ve sure worked for me in the past, and continue to work for me today. If you’re struggling to think of your own, feel free to use mine, but you can also create some specifically for you.
If it seems unbelievable, start with some positive questions. You could try something along these lines:• Wouldn’t it be nice if I was a happy, healthy, worthy, wealthy woman?
• What if I am a happy, healthy, worthy, wealthy woman?
Then when that is believable to you, change it to:
• It’s possible that I can be a happy, healthy, worthy, wealthy woman; or,
• I am becoming a happy, healthy, worthy wealthy woman.
When that sounds believable, take it one step further to: “I am a happy, healthy, worthy, wealthy woman.
You ARE that happy, healthy, worthy wealthy woman! Let your light shine Beautiful YOU, let your light shine!!!
