I was concerned about being perceived as someone who focuses on accomplishing immediate tasks or goals no matter the cost and not as a facilitative leader. Lois patiently and skillfully asked insightful and probing questions that helped me define my goals and how I might achieve them. Although I dont always hit the mark (Im human), Ive made space for routine self-reflection to facilitate my using a coaching mindset, which focuses more on curiosity than judgment.

Lois is one of the most astute listeners I have ever met. Before I met Lois, priorities were difficult for me to identify. As a very wild thinker myself, Lois's ability to follow me and then ask an essential question is a gift. I am grateful for her ability to keep me focused and gently guide me back to the challenge at hand. Lois was a wonderful coach who got me out of my habit of starting some sentences/questions with "this might be dumb/irrelevant" "I have a dumb/silly question", and a lot of language that interfered with the message I was trying to convey and putting myself down in the workplace.
