15 years ago I sat in a closet begging God to take my life because my addiction to Crack Cocaine was too strong for me. I just wanted to be free from drugs, but there was much more in my life that needed to be healed,
My drug of choice was not Crack Cocaine, it was toxic relationships. I went from one bad relationship to the next. And although I take full responsibility for my actions, it was the relationship I had with my ex-husband that exposed me to drugs in the first place.
After the demise of that marriage and other broken relationships with the same kind of men, I got tired of hurting and began to search within myself for the answer. After a 5 year process of self discovery, I discovered who I was and what I had to offer. I learned to love and protect myself. I learned how to guard my heart against love until the right time. I learn how to spot red flags and gained the strength to walk away from what had the potential to hurt me.
This is just the beginning. I have learned how to endure through tough times to pursue my goals. I have learned how to rise above difficulty. And I wanted to teach this to other women. I have always had a heart for reaching hurting and broken women. So I began training at Liberty University where I earned a Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies. And a Masters in Health and Human Services Counselling. I have taken specific training courses for counseling in 6 different disciplines and have earned a Certificate of Completion in advanced Christian Life Coaching. (16 weeks)
In April of 2010, under the obedience of the Holy Spirit, I founded The Making Of A Lady; developed a biblically based curriculum and began teaching classes to women who were just like me.
My motto with The Making Of A Lady is "Equipping women for L.I.F.E." Living In Fulfillment Everyday. It is my desire to see women from all walks of life reaching their full potential in Christ with a sense of destiny and belonging.
