About Me
Co-founder, Mindful Restoration, Inc.,
Executive Director, Take a Breath
Founder, FreeBack Yoga Therapy
Jeff began as an air traffic controller in 1981, a long time stress expert.
Jeff began mindfulness meditation in 1980 and then teaching in 1991. He lived and studied at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. This enabled him to study with international leaders in meditation and yoga, and assimilate exceptional teaching techniques and experiences. A senior massage therapist graduated from the Alexandar School of Natural Therapeutics '95. As well, graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City, a vanguard in holistic nutrition and health. This began a passionate inquiry into mentoring and coaching as an additional tool to support yoga students. He began creating programs and teacher training which assist developing yoga teachers and currently co-directs the 200, 300, and 500 hour training programs through the Mindful Restoration, Inc. training over 650 teachers in these programs. He is a former air traffic controller, small business start-up GM, and Xerox salesman.
Since 2004 Jeff has been immersed in the practice of Yoga Nidra Mindfulness Meditation. With the support of his teachers Yogi Amrit Desai, Richard Miller and Michael Singer he created a unique tool to support mental health and transformation. Owning yoga studios he saw the need to support the general population, who struggle with mental health and wellness. A school counselor mentioned how the kids need mindfulness tools. Take a Breath for Schools and Communities is now the evolving program which leads to breakthroughs in how Jeff mentors and coaches. Using the unique methodology, based in cutting edge brain science and ancient practices.
Jeff's eclectic background is a wealth of personal experience; time with the Dalai Lama, parties with Metallica, SPCA and hospice volunteer, Big Brother, husband of 20 years, and dad of two lovely young women.
Reviews
I am incredibly thankful for Jeff and his work. He is passionate and deeply caring on his mission to help ease the suffering he encounters. You will never doubt his sincerity or his compassion. I felt so supported and safe to be truly vulnerable. With his help I transformed my deeply rooted and highly triggered stress response into a state of peace and grace. His endless support has not only changed the way I approach my relationships but with respect to every aspect of my life.
