The Magic of Words

There are certain words that I call magical because they have the power to change how you feel and look at what's going on in your life.
Vocabulary is more powerful than most of us are aware of. What you say to yourself creates what’s possible for yourself; it determines your level of self confidence; the outcome of your performances; it is the prefix to the actions that you take and that’s just to name a few of the many parts of your life that are affected and eventually effected by your vocabulary.
This article is really about “Magic Words”… What I call a Magic Word, is a word that can shift your reality or perceived situation and perception to empower you immediately into a more resourceful and powerful state of mind.
One Magic Phrase I use with my clients, is “It’s just temporary”.
The context behind this phrase is that you can future pace yourself 2 or even 5 years from this moment into the future and see yourself looking back on the situation you are currently going through now and smile or laugh.
Think about a time when you were unsure how things were going to work out in your life but then some how they did. You just kept on with your life. If you are in a situation where you are not sure how things are going to work itself out, i.e., you might be trying to figure out where money for a bill is going to come from for rent or a car payment or whether or not your job security is strong or whatever the situation may be that’s causing some level of stress…. these thoughts can be very dis-empowering if you dwell within them. If you re-frame or relabel the situation as being just temporary, you will find a new sense of ease and relaxation about the situation and your mind will open up and start letting new options and possibilities come to your mind.
The more options you have, the more personal power you have. The more personal power you have the more you realize that you can overcome and be victorious over any situation no matter how daunting it appears.
