Inspired Action

With inspired action, things seem to unfold easily, as if by design.
I’ve been noticing lately that if you ask most people how they are doing, they will say some variation of “Good, but busy.” And many will say it with a sense of pride, as if busy equals successful.
Interestingly though, I’m finding that some of my clients seek out life coaching because although they are extremely busy, they feel miserable, overwhelmed and unhappy with some areas of their life.
I get it. It’s easy to get sucked into a mind-numbing schedule, filled with endless tasks, deadlines and other stressors.
And, it’s easy to stray so far away from our dreams that we can’t even remember what lights us up anymore.
As wrote in last week’s newsletter, this is why I set three daily intentions each morning while I take my walk by the lake. This is important to me because I want to be sure I am taking purposeful action every day to move me towards my life vision.
A client recently asked, “How do you decide what intentions to focus on each day?”
This is a great question and so I thought I would write about it here in case you were wondering the same thing.
My answer may surprise you.
I ask myself only two simple questions:
o What would I love to do today?
o And, does this align with my Vision Plan*? *See last week’s blog post for ideas about how to create your Vision Plan
That’s it!
You see, walking in nature is my favorite way to quiet my mind and tune into my inner voice. This is the soulful guidance that comes from my spirit and knows what makes me feel inspired and joyful.
Notice I don’t ask myself what I have to do that day or what I think my priorities should be, because this will take me out of alignment with my own best interest.
Navigating from a place of joy instead of from duty is essential!
And also notice that I don’t let my rational mind weigh in right away either. This is because once my brain gets overly involved and tries to figure things out, my inspiration is squelched.
And why is inspiration so important?
Because this is what sparks the energy that helps me feel alive and on fire!
When I take inspired action, things seem to unfold easily, as if by design.
There is no struggle. I don’t have to “force” myself into action, or feel the shame of procrastination.
Are you willing to give this a try?
You don’t have to take a morning walk; a few moments of quiet reflection will do just fine.
At best, you will begin to take inspired action daily towards what you’ve been wanting for your life. And even if it doesn’t turn out exactly as planned, you will be more tuned into what lights you up and brings you joy!
I’m excited for you to try it. Please let me know how it goes!
