Happy February! Increase your happiness by spreading kindness.

“I will try to create more happiness and less unhappiness in the world around me.” Practice daily acts of kindness throughout February.
I recently came across an organization dedicated to happiness and took the above pledge. Action for Happiness envisions a happier world, with fewer people suffering with mental health problems and more people feeling good and helping others. And that made me happy!
The organization has, as its patron, The Dalai Lama. Members take action to increase wellbeing in their homes, workplaces, schools and local communities.
This aligns entirely with my approach to my new coaching and mindfulness practice and I was delighted to find this organization.
Neuroscience has proven that being kind can make us happier – while calming the brain’s stress centre. The more we do small acts of kindness, the more our brains rewire (neuroplasticity of the brain) to focus on the positive things around us and less on the negative experiences.
This Calendar of Kindness might help you set a daily intention of spreading a little kindness. By doing so, you will also bring some happiness, calmness and compassion back to yourself. Will you join me?
