Can Adrenal Fatigue Cause Dizziness, Nausea, Vertigo, Fainting and Tiredness?
Yes, with adrenal insufficiency, enough cortisol and aldosterone hormones are not produced and it leads to fatigue, dizziness, nausea and tiredness.
These hormones regulate the stress response, blood pressure, blood sugar and water balance.
Low blood sugar
When blood sugar is low, cortisol is used to turn glycogen into glucose for the brain through a process called gluconeogenesis. When the brain doesn’t have adequate glucose for energy, it will cause dizziness and fainting. Nausea is a result of the dizziness. The combination of Cortisol dysregulation and low blood sugar create these symptoms.
Blood Pressure
The body’s water levels are directly correlated with blood pressure. The kidneys regulate blood pressure by removing water from the blood into the bladder. High sodium levels prevent the water from being separated from the blood.
Potassium works in the opposite way; it eases tension in the blood vessel wall — aiding in the elimination of salt by the kidneys and reducing blood pressure.
Blood Pressure Summary
High salt levels = high blood pressure; low salt levels= low blood pressure; Low blood pressure = dizziness; dizziness = vomit; and potassium balances sodium.
Aldosterone
Aldosterone is a hormone that controls salt levels in the blood. If aldosterone levels are low, salt levels will be low and hence low blood pressure.
If salt levels are too low, water loss is high; increased water loss leads to increased loss of potassium and other minerals.
Potassium is needed to keep muscles functioning properly. So low potassium = tiredness, cramping and pain.
There you have it. Hormonal dysregulation cascades into an entire list of problems.
Yes, adrenal fatigue causes dizziness, nausea, vertigo, fainting and tiredness? It is created from low blood sugar and low blood pressure from reduced levels of cortisol and aldosterone.
How to fix it?
Well guys, it is not so simple. That is what my program is for. It involves healing adrenal fatigue through diet, rest, proper exercise, stress reduction and supplementation.
However, I can tell you it is very important to balance your blood sugar. You need to keep yourself from crashing by avoiding all the simple carbohydrates. Eat regularly and include a lot of healthy fats and proteins.
Aid the bodies salt levels by starting your day with a little pink himalyan salt and/or a glass of celery juice. This also ensures that you have enough minerals and water.
Don’t allow yourself to get dehydrated. But don’t over drink water either as you will flush out your mineral content.
There are some supplements you can get to help regulate blood sugar. This is particularly helpful if you are suffering from cravings from removing the simple sugars.
One I can recommend is — support glucose with biomatrix. It contains cinnamon extract, bitter melon extract, chromium and a variety of herbs. However, there are various similar brands that are less expensive.
Also, keep your mineral levels balanced by taking trace minerals. However, don’t over do it with the supplements or the salts. You don’t want to create imbalances in the opposite direction.
