It All Starts with Mastering Our Mindsets and Understanding Be-Do-Have Sequence for Your Future Success.
So you want to be a successful entrepreneur, but are you a successful entrepreneur? You see, unless you’re already thinking and acting like a successful entrepreneur, you’re not going to get to where you want to be. Why? Because your thoughts have the power to influence your outcomes in life. Saying you’re going to be a success isn’t enough, it’s merely paying lip service to a dream unless your thoughts and actions are backing up your words. Are your thoughts empowering you, or are they nothing more than wishful thinking?
If Wishes Were Horses…
Ever heard the old proverb, “If wishes were horses, beggars would ride”? It dates all the way back to the 1600s but the message it contains is timeless: if you only had to make a wish to make things happen, you’d already have whatever you wanted. Think about it… are you wishing for success to come your way, or are you actively making success happen for you?
Successful people make success happen, and it’s a process powered by their mindset. Richard Branson and Bill Gates didn’t wish themselves from college dropouts to multi-millionaires; Sara Blakely and Arianna Huffington didn’t wish themselves from having an idea into heading up a global enterprise… you get the idea. They all got there by thinking and acting as if they were already there.
Be-Do-Have V Have-Do-Be
Okay, let’s put this into context. When you think and act as if you’re already there, you adopt the mindset of someone who already has what you aspire to have. This gives you a powerfully motivating attitude of be-do-have. For example, let’s say you want to get your message out there in a best-selling book. The process begins by thinking in the way a best-selling author would, and then doing what a best-selling author would to then have what a best-selling author has.
Now compare this to the mindset of a wishful thinker with an attitude of have-do-be. You say you want to be a best-selling author, but you don’t think you’ve got everything you need to succeed in place yet. Maybe you think you need a degree in English, or maybe you think you need a better understanding of the publishing process… whatever it is you think you need, your thinking is holding you back. Your thoughts are focused on what you don’t have, keeping you stuck in the mindset of someone who doesn’t believe they have what it takes to succeed.
What Would Superman Do?
Ever tried to imagine yourself out of a sticky situation by asking yourself, “What would Superman do?” Now try applying the very same thinking to real life. Be superman in whatever it is you want to achieve. Think like a successful person, act like a successful person, and your thoughts and actions will take you from wherever you currently are to wherever you want to be. You will have the success you want.
