A lot of people hear the word budget and they think of busywork and bureaucracy but what is a budget? It is really just a system of goal setting.
Hello Everyone!
As the Holiday time of year approaches guess what time of year it is for accountants?
Budgeting Time!
For many accountants and managers it is the time of year to take a look at how their company has done over the past year, look at current trends and forecasts for economy in the next calendar year and create the annual budget.
If you don’t have a budget for your small business or even your personal life you may want to consider it. A well thought out and well-crafted budget might be just what it takes to take you to the next level. A lot of people hear budget and they think of busywork and bureaucracy but what is a budget? It is really just a system of goal setting. What are your goals for 2020?
As a business coach what do I do in almost every client session?
We set goals.
As a business coach and CPA with over 29 years of experience, I am more than qualified to help to guide you through the budgeting process so just let me know if you could use a hand.
I like to remind clients of this phrase: If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.
November is a great time for other types of planning in addition to budgeting. Whether it is budgeting, or strategic planning, or income tax planning, the New Year is on the horizon so now is the time to get it done. It is a perfect time to do some income tax planning because at this point you have a pretty good idea of what your tax burden will look like for 2019 but there is still time to make some adjustments. Once the calendar ticks to January 1, there is very little to be done to minimize your tax bill for 2019. Once the year closes, your tax preparer becomes a record keeper and not a valuable asset who can guide you toward strategies that minimize your income taxes so give your tax preparer a call today to give them a chance to prove their true value.
