Ensure you mirror both documents’ style, content is King but it needs to be presented in a professional and consistent way. Here are some tips->
The Resume and Cover Letter are the only initial way of assessing who you are as a professional. I have often seen and received Resumes and Cover Letters with different designs. This is extremely off-putting as it reveals a lack of attention to details, low interest in landing the job and potential time management issues as it opens the door to considering it was a rushed application.
So although the content of your resume and cover letter may be great, watch out for the design and ensure you mirror both documents’ style.
Here are some style tips:
Include the same header that should have your full name and the acronym for your highest academic designation If you happen to have a line or section break design, mimic that same design on your Cover Letter on the top section Use the same font type and marginsDon’t let style inconsistencies get in the way of your main objective of getting called for an interview.
