The flower that blooms once a year!

While you may not be using your special skills often, it is still important to nurture them.
At home, we have a “Brahma Kamal” (botanical name: Saussurea Obvallata) plant. The flower of this plant blooms once in a year and last night it bloomed at our home. This annual event is always an exciting time for all of us at home not just because of how beautiful and elegant the flower looks but also because of the fact that the flower lasts for only that night – for the rest of the year, all we get to see is an unassuming plant. In spite of the fact that we only get to see one flower in a year and its life is less than 12 hours, we still spend a great deal of time taking care of the plant.
Similarly, we all have a special talent/skill/strength that we don’t use often. It’s important that we identify and nurture it so that we can use it whenever it is needed.
Don’t ignore it just because you don’t use it often. Remember, a football player who’s good at a penalty kick practices it several times even though the opportunity to use it rarely comes.
