Are you afraid of might not getting the right answer?
From my experience in attending interviews, there is actually no RIGHT or WRONG answer, it’s all about how you answer it. Some individuals tend to worry too much about whether they have the right answer or not. Well, worry less!
Interviewers want to see ideas, and fresh new ideas will certainly would make them interested in you. How your idea can be applied and the possible outcome that may bring changes to their company.
That idea may have come from your previous experience with another company from which you have to improvise and make it workable for other companies.
That’s why experience is very important, but what if you are a fresh grad. You wouldn’t have much experience do you?
Here’s are my advice:
1) Get exposed to all those information out there, as I would advise all of my students who attended my workshop, ‘there are so many information around you and it’s on your fingertips, if unskilled people can build their own house just by watching YouTube, just imagine how you can build yourself by exploring all those information’.
2) Build connection with people who are well versed in their field, same as yours. LinkedIn is the best platform. Don’t go crazy by sending invitations and adding everyone who came across your feeds, but only those who are necessary and related to your field.
Read their postings and sharing, and if you have to, ask them questions that would benefit you and adding up your knowledge from their experiences.
3) Be in the loop – follow the LinkedIn and Facebook page of the company of your choice, get to know them. The company hires you for a reason, they either want you to help them with something, or settle their issues. Listen carefully who are they intended to hire.
If they are looking for someone to lessen the burden of their staffs, portray yourself as a person who is ready to help and you are all equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
And if they are looking for someone to solve their issues, then be the one who has tons of ideas that might work for them.
When you know where you are heading, you’ll drive the interview session with confidence. Professional interviewers don’t test candidates, they help them to realize the candidate’s true potential.
