Do You Have a Story? And do you want to tell it?
Posted on July 23, 2019 by Mark Missigman, One of Thousands of Business Coaches on Noomii.
Of course, you have a story and you want to share it.
I know that you do, and the world needs to hear it. They need to hear it because you have value to share and there are at least 1000 people, that’s right, 1000 people that will love it, learn from it and become your biggest fans, for life.
Believe it!
And don’t you owe it to them to deliver your story to them in the best way possible? Even if that is in conversation at a lunch, a party, a dinner or a networking event? Yes, I know you want to deliver your story well because you care about others and helping them with their life, problems and career is what you are about. You are going to speak to them in a way that they have been waiting for all their lives. They will say, “Finally someone gets me”. Isn’t that cool?
But you may be saying “I do not know how?” You do not know the secrets and magic of a good presentation or a good story. But we can change that. Together, you and I can teach you the skills to be a professional and effective speaker, presenter and conversationalist that people will line up to hear. A storyteller.
Does effective communication translate to career success? Yes, it does. From the web site; Skills You Need; “Effective communication skills are fundamental to success in many aspects of life. Many jobs require strong communication skills. People with good communication skills also usually enjoy better interpersonal relationships with friends and family. Effective communication is therefore a key interpersonal skill and learning how to improve your communication has many benefits. However, many people find it difficult to know where to start.”
Maxwell’s International Speaker’s Club is the place to start, it will teach effective communication skills in small sessions, easy to understand and digest. Each small session will build on the last one until you become comfortable with the skill and can use it every day. You will have the opportunity to practice each skill in a safe and friendly environment that will allow you to master it.
Many have.
Would you like to communicate in ways the most effectively serve others, when simply talking with a friend or any setting when talking with others? If yes, then you must take advantage of leaning skills of talking with others more effectively. Many people talk at people rather that with them. This is a crucial mistake, as they do not connect with them. Their conversation partners leave feeling drained and as if they just got through a trial as the defendant! By learning to connect better with people you will enhance the experience of connecting with you for others. They will enjoy it, remember it and tell others about it. You will become sought after for advice, entertainment or even keynote speaking engagements.
You owe the world the uncommon experience of hearing your story. It is time that you told it to a lunch meeting, a group of friends or the local rotary club. You are the difference that will make the world around you better. Let’s go, let’s get started on crafting, designing and telling that story that will make you the hero, leader and inspiration to “at least” 1000 people.
You can read about how to be a better speaker and communicator but until you do it you will not really know how. You will not really know what works for you, what your style is and how to engage with people. When you engage people, when they are leaning in; they are persuadable. Do you want to persuade people to your cause? You can do that ethically and skillfully in a way that makes them enthusiastic about it. When you learn the skills necessary to connect on the mental, emotional and psychological level with people. A connected and engaged person is a willing participant in your talk, conversation and speech.
Let the world hear your story. The skills you need are close by in Maxwell’s Speakers Club. Join the Club, contact me.
