Why Coaching is a need for High potential / High performers?
As a leader, there is a need to understand the way of recognition of high potential and high performers. Some of them would be behind monetary things like Promotion, bigger role, pay hike, awards etc while some of them would be cherished by the power, authority, visibility, recognition, presence, responsibility, influence they have, exposure to wider network of people, wider level of thinking etc. The initial set of monetary things might not bring in the later always. I have witnessed many people getting all these even without a promotion and eventually leading it to the title change or promotion. So, understanding which one would be the will of High performer/High potential and what makes them happy and satisfied is important. Are the High Potential and High performers ready to understand themselves and their need?. That’s where coaching would help them realize their potential, inner needs and use it in the right sense. Unlike the old thought of coaching is only for the poor performer to be laid off, it helps individuals to understand and realize their inner need for them to be fully satisfied. Also coaching helps the managers and leaders to deal with these high performers and high potentials by giving them way to succeed in their life by exploring more options.
