What The Hell Am I Searching For?

Looking for deeper meaning and purpose? Want to identify the most intimate core of your being? Why? How does in affect your wellbeing?
Something about human “consciousness” yearns for something larger than life. From ancient times through the modern era, this core aspect of humanity is at the center of debate and discussion. We know so much about the world around us. Yet, we know so little about, the very essence of our being!
Every desire, motive, thought and emotion is driven by searching for the inner “I”. When the real “I” is satisfied, you are happy. If not, you feel like you are missing something.
Life gets really complicated when you can’t seem to figure out; what do you truly want? You find something that works today. Tomorrow, it is no longer good enough. You wonder; “Will I ever find what I am really looking for?”. Does life have any true value?
How you chose to answer the question, will severely impact your emotional wellbeing. If your answers conflict with your experience, it may induce emotional trauma. This could include; stress, anxiety, depression, fatigue and a lack of self confidence.
Not answering a question is, better than answering it wrong, as long as you are still searching. The very pursuit of sincere clarity, could be comforting. On the other hand, if you spend your life pushing a round peg into a square hole, life will be very annoying. When your worldview contradicts what you observe, you will constantly blame reality for failing to comply with your fantasy. The problem is, reality can’t change. You need to adapt to it!
I would suggest trying the following exercise. See how it makes you feel!
Stop anything that you are doing. Take a moment and relax. Close your eyes. Ensure yourself that, you are sincerely searching for your true purpose. Tell yourself as follows, “I promise not to jump to conclusions. I will use every power, ability and resource that I have to, discover my inner truth. I will do everyone I can, to achieve my mission. I will reject any influence that tries to deceive or distract me from reaching this goal.”
I would suggest, verbalize this commitment and openly expressing any emotions that may come with it!
How did this exercise affect you?
