Life Processes

To identify our habits and understand we can improve them.
There is a coffe cup with a comic on the side. It shows a man getting out of bed and next to the bed on the wall is a two foot by three foot note that reads, " Pants first, then shoes". This is meant to be a reminder for him as he is attempting to change his process for getting up in the morning.
Day in day out we do many things the same way each day. We call them Habits, but they are actually our daily processes. Some may change depending on the day of the week or seasons of the year. However they are all our processes by which we live and control our environment. When there is a change, often our processes cannot compensate for what is different. We give the change a name like a hiccup, unforeseen event, bump in the road, ect. But actually, it is a cause of failure in the process. Often these causes can be anticipated and detection put in place to prevent or catch them before they affect the process.
An example could be as simple as how we react to a phone call. The phone rings and the process is to answer it. When we are busy, we sometimes answer quickly without looking at the screen of the phone. The unforeseen event might be an unwanted call from a telemarketer or a person trying to con us. So, we put detection in place in our process like “look to see who is calling before answering the phone” or “let the call go to voicemail” (especial when we are driving). After a while of being diligent with this detection it becomes habit or a part of our process.
As a life coach I make it my goal to help my clients first identify the processes of their life and then help them to make improvements to the processes they want to change. Then in some cases, I help them write new processes to achieve their new goals.
