Courage to be Happy

We all have the courage to be happy. And, we can easily maintain our happiness by giving thanks daily, going the extra mile, and staying present.
The definition of courage according to Webster is to have the mental or moral strength to persevere and withstand difficulty. And, in today’s environment, I believe it takes such courage to be happy. The good news is we all have a greatness, the Power within, that among its other gifts to us, blesses us with courage. Since we have the courage to be happy, being thankful for each day, going the extra mile, and staying present can help us maintain the right levels of happiness. This way, we all can begin to experience the abundant life that has always been within our divine right.
First, every day is a gift, why not start it off by giving thanks to the Universe. This new day when seen alright can be another opportunity to be strong and overcome any challenge from the day, prior. Sometimes, we find ourselves resisting such challenges and can’t seem to understand why they continue to show up, but only in different form. Well, this can be the day when we accept the challenge of being irresistible magnets; resisting nothing. After all, nonresistance can lead us to the possibility of personal growth and change for the better.
Second, going the extra mile gives you an opportunity to help someone else along the way to their road to happiness. Especially to the one that may not give the same in return. I recall having a challenge with an employer who appeared to be grumpy and never happy with my work performance. We went on a business trip together and had dinner. Over dinner, we discussed their personal challenges and I listened with compassion and empathy whole-heartily. When, they finally asked out of the blue, “Gaidra, how do you deal with me when I do not care much for you?” Without hesitation, I replied, “because it is not to you I deal with, but the divinity, within you.” I believe when we decide to not allow others to determine our actions, lives can be touched in magnificent ways.
Third, staying present in our consciousness can also lead to maintaining our courage to be happy. Whenever we are present, we can better able pick up on an unhappy thought attempting to penetrate our minds. And, whatever that unhappy thought is, i.e., “this is going to be a tough day,” we can immediately turn it around and reaffirm to ourselves the opposite. “This is going to be a great day. Life is good. I choose to be happy all throughout my day.” And, I can guarantee you, your day will turn out even better than ever imagined.
In conclusion, we all have the courage to be happy. And, we can easily maintain our happiness by giving thanks, daily, going the extra mile, and staying present. Finally, once this Truth is acknowledged and applied to our daily lives, I believe we can begin to experience the abundant life that has always been within our divine right.
