- It’s Okay 2 Be Different –
In this article we are going to talk about a couple of life tips that you can use right now to make sure you always stand out for the right reasons. We will be covering two very important steps that will help keep you from falling into the wrong crowd and that will let you know that it is okay to be different.
“Look in the mirror”
Why is it important to look in the mirror every morning to check the attitude that you are going out into the world with and why is it just as important to do your own self evaluation every night before you go to bed ? You check your attitude every morning because the world is only going to respond to you in the manner you respond to it. If you go out into the world with a bad attitude then the world around you will always remain negative. You can’t go out into the world thinking that the world is against you already. By doing this you will find yourself to be a very negative person and instead of jumping into the game with life you will be on the bench watching life pass you by. You have to have the attitude of a champion before you go out and let the world contaminate it. You have to be confident enough in yourself to know who you are and be focused on the goals you want to accomplish. See when you go out into the world already knowing who you are and the goals you have for yourself you will not have to worry about getting influenced “easily” to get involved with any activity that will hold you back from achieving your personal goals in life.
“Your mind can be your best friend or your worst enemy! Depends on what you put into it and how you use it. If you allow negative thoughts to get trapped inside your mind then the world around you will continue to be negative. Remember YOU are a product of your mind. If you are not satisfied with your product then exCHANGE it.”
You do a self evaluation every night to check yourself and make sure you have not gotten off track of whom you are and where you are going. We have to learn to start holding ourselves responsible for the actions we take every day. If we look at ourselves every night and honestly ask ourselves what went right and why; what went wrong and why then we can start working on and correcting the one thing that we have total control over which is our ATTITUDE. When we are able to give ourselves praise for the good we are doing in life we eliminate relying on the outside world to do it for us and in doing that we make ourselves stronger. When we are able to point out our faults in life it will automatically force us to work on those faults because we are bringing them to light and confronting them.
“I am who I am today because I DECIDED who I wanted to BE. Everything starts with a DECISION and has to be followed by ACTION before you will BECOME!”
So from now on don’t just look in the mirror to see if your outfit is matching from head to toe, don’t just look in the mirror to see if your curls or waves are lying right, but look in the mirror to check your attitude. Because it does not matter how fly or nice you look on the outside, if your inside (attitude) is not checked and put in place every day and night. On my mirror in my house I have this phrase written in marker:
We Become What We Claim to BE…… “I Am” KING!
This forces me to read and say something positive to myself every day and every night. Since our God has made us in His image we are royalty by default because He is royalty. As long as we keep our relationship with our God good and talk to Him daily to hear His instructions on life (in prayer and meditation) then we will have enough confidence in ourselves to stand out for the right reasons and be the difference that this world needs to see.
