Simplify Your Life-think before you act

Simplify your life and find a sense of satisfaction from taking actions that move you in a direction of your choice
Step One: What is your Highest Value Activity?
Determine the key things that you do that contribute the most to your desired outcomes. If you spent more time in this area you would see an increase in results. Try asking yourself this question everyday: What is the best use of my time right now?
Step Two: Set Goals
Decide what you want to accomplish in your work, recreation, health and relationship areas.
Create a picture of the ideal day or lifestyle. Write it down in enough detail that you will be able to use this ideal as a guide for decisions along the way. Resolve to do one thing each day that moves you in the direction of one of your goals.
Step Three: Learn How to Say No
Practice saying no to demands on your time and energy. Only say yes to things that make the best use of your time and bring you energy.
Step Four: Get Rid of Clutter
Start with a small area and create a clutter free zone- on your desk and in your home. Use this area to work on projects or planning where you are not distracted by other items that might claim your attention. Clear your schedule of clutter, just like you would clean out a closet to find more space. Creating some clear space of time will free up your brain to focus on important things.
Step Five: Chunk it Down
Take any project that is too big or overwhelming and break it down into steps. Decide what five actions you could take to start on the big project and do those. Pick a time period between 20-40 minutes and just commit to spending that amount of time on the project every week or every day.
Step Six: De-Clutter your Brain
Your brain is not a good storage unit; too many good ideas get lost or come up as a distraction when you are in the middle of something else. Take the time to sit down and write down every single thing or task that is taking up space in your mind. Sort the list into three areas: Tasks to do this week- go on your schedule; Projects all become a separate area and other- set aside to review next week.
Step Seven: Manage your Projects
A project is any thing that takes more than one step. Start each project by defining project completion. This is how you will know you are done. Decide what the next action step is to move towards completion. Keep asking that question and taking one action at a time until the project is complete.
