Fear.

How is it holding you back?
Do you believe in the Law of Attraction? That like attracts like, happy thoughts create more happy thoughts, and negative interactions create more negative interactions? How about when you have a song stuck in your head, and then out of nowhere you hear it in a restaurant or on the radio?
There is plenty of research that backs up the theory of the law of attraction, and how it can influence your life. That you can manifest some of your greatest dreams by acting as though you have already received whatever it is you are looking for.
Farfetched or not; I will let you decide. As you may know, we recently purchased and moved into our new home. The last couple of months have been filled with packing, moving, cleaning and figuring out how to find comfort in our new space. The process has been great overall, but I found it difficult to stay on track with some of my personal goals and initiatives. It seemed that the days went by faster than I could keep track of and before I knew it, we were nearing the middle of August. I began to feel like I needed some direction, and motivation to get back on track.
I was missing the interaction with my clients, missed hearing their success stories and accomplishments. It is incredible how much energy I gain from seeing the success of others. I knew I needed to get back into that space.
I spent some time over a couple of days, determining what my next step would be, telling myself I was ready for my next challenge and wanting to get back on track. This intense focus on knowing I was ready to take the next step showed immediate results. I could see small shifts in the ideas and phrases that started to stand out to me. The thoughts and ideas were coming at me faster than I could control. I reached out and congratulated several of the amazing rock star women I follow on social media, and started getting immediate feedback from all sorts of sources. Client opportunities presented themselves to me. Interactions became more positive and uplifting.
Something kept nagging at me though…this voice that told me I couldn’t move forward. Telling me I wasn’t ready. Telling me I wasn’t good enough. It’s a voice I am sure you are familiar with. It is the voice of FEAR. Fear is my worst enemy, and I bet if you think about it, yours too. It is guaranteed to set you off your game and ensure that you doubt yourself and your ability. It starts with a question in self-doubt and ends in the inability to take action. Fear is paralyzing. It can be all consuming and send you into retreat mode.
But only if you let it.
How can you win against fear? How can you rise above your own doubts and negative thoughts, and prove to everyone (or even just yourself!) that you are as worthy of success as everyone else is. What steps can you take today push yourself just a little bit harder? What personal experiences can you look back on to see where you overcame a sense of fear and came through to the other side-feeling even more motivated and accomplished? Those are the feelings to focus on. Those are the drivers of your next successful move.
The truth is this: You can spend your time blaming others, continuing to focus on negativity and not move forward. Or you can make the choice now to punch fear in the throat and become productive.
Start by forcing the fear and negative thoughts out of your mind, and focus only on what you can control. Your ability to take action. Only you can control your next move. Make it a good one, and then focus on the next positive step forward after that. Then celebrate the success that follows.
