Generate Tolerance.

Exercise tolerance daily, work at it.
Living in Asia is not always easy. Nothing could have prepared me for the difference. The difference in culture, the difference in the people, the difference in weather, roads, driving, service, services, religion, beliefs, education, what’s acceptable, what’s not acceptable, health & safety, 1st world vs. 2nd world….difference.
It has been a test, and I remain well outside my comfort zone. I can sense massive shifts in me, a kind of growth, as if I am being prepared for something, something I don’t yet know. I wanted to share the work involved to carve out a life here in Malaysia. The work of ‘tolerance’.
To live here and to survive in the East, when I am from the West, takes work and that work is based in tolerance. I cannot be in control in the same way as I used to be when I lived in my known world, I have to ‘let go’. I have to exercise tolerance daily. It is a practice which has become my praxis.
Working to become more and more aware for who you are being, becoming aware of all the irritations, frustrations, annoyances, differences and stressors around you and notice yourself….look at what it takes to exercise your tolerance.
As a coach this new depth of understanding what it takes to adapt, what it takes to survive in a totally different environment and culture is essential. Noticing the shadow, allowing the mistakes, forgiving and moving on.
Go well.
