Map Your Journey to Couples Nirvana Now. “We waste time looking for the perfect lover, instead of creating the perfect love.” -Tom Robbins
StatisticBrain.com says that 43% of divorced couples attended marriage counseling before the divorce.
Not the best odds, right? More importantly, WHY DID THEY WAIT?
Don’t get me wrong, marriage counseling has its place and can often save a relationship. But why not start a serious relationship off on the right path as early as possible?
The traditional focus of marriage and relationship counseling is reactive. What I’m advocating is proactive coaching for future relationship success. It’s just like going to a map app and asking for directions from point-A to point-B.
Why go to the trouble? Because relationships, whether intimate or not, are the truest measure of the quality of our lives. And that’s exactly why coaching for relationship success may be the single best investment you’ll ever make in your future happiness.
As a relationship coach, I teach skills and awareness that will make a positive difference in your love life before you find yourself staring at the Splitsville city limits sign.
It’s funny, I’m often asked how I achieve this magic in a one-hour session. The answer is I don’t! Relationship coaching is all about participation: learning, practicing … putting the concepts we discuss into action. That doesn’t mean trust falls and psychoanalysis. But it can mean stepping out of your comfort zone and approaching emotional connections from a new and different perspective. But that’s a lot easier with practical tools for helping you put what you learn into practice. And it takes time.
A common misconception is that life or relationship coaching is the same as therapy. It’s not. Therapy is reactive in its approach. It’s intended to help people recover from disorders, trauma, depression, or anxiety. Coaching, on the other hand, is proactive in its approach and intended to help emotionally healthy individuals set and achieve personal goals such as increased levels of happiness, relationship success, or work-life balance.
A relationship coach helps you prioritize, provides real-time feedback, keeps you accountable and on track towards meeting your goals, and helps you measure and record results.
Relationship coaching transforms your understanding of yourself and those around you. It makes it easier to recognize the right partner, resolve major issues, and create a long-term, loving connection.
The bottom line, if your relationship isn’t what or where you want it to be, it’s crazy to keep doing the same thing while expecting a different result. Give relationship coaching a go. It can help you realize all the love and happiness you desire and deserve.
