It is possible to move from the vision of an idea to culmination using these tips.
Do you know the odds of getting from an idea to its completion? When you hear an idea or think of an idea you have a 10% chance of carrying it to completion. That doesn’t seem to be very good odds completing the idea. You can, however, increase the odds of getting the idea completed.
Just making up your mind to adopt the idea will increase the odds of getting it done. The odds you will carry the idea to completion is 25%. This means you recognize the value of the idea and desire to incorporate it into your life plan. But you can increase the odds of completion even further.
The first of the year usually finds people making up their minds they need to accomplish some idea or goals in the New Year. They know the value of losing weight, getting more exercise, reading a good book or watching less television. The reason they usually do not get very far on completing these ideas or goals is because they do not take the step of setting a time to act on the idea. For instance a person desiring to lose weight might set a date for choosing to start losing weight. When this is done the odds of completion of the goal increases to 40%.
Designing a plan to act on the idea increases the odds of completion to 50%. This takes place when the person looks at the idea or goal and puts into place the steps that will be taken to achieve the goal. This involves taking a look at the reality of where you are and possible speed bumps that will slow you down. It is looking at the assets you have to accomplish the goal. It is planning to acquire the necessary additional skills you need to accomplish the goal.
Telling someone else about the idea and making the commitment to them to accomplish the goal increases the odds of completing the goal to 65%. You can still increase the odds of success to 95%.
Increasing the odds to 95% is accomplished by finding an accountability partner or coach. This is someone you trust and with whom you can make an appointment to talk about the progress of the plan. This can be an appointment for the start of the plan, or the completion of the first step in you plan.
Here’s to your success in completing your idea or goal.
