The Power of Knowing It's OK

It really is OK !
There is so much hype for us these days about our future. Society seems to have a lot of “musts” and “shoulds” for us to adhere to. Typically, many of us have been sold the story of life being about finishing school, getting a good job, settling down, working 9-5, live for the weekend, once you have your family of 2.4 children that’s when you’ve really made it and you’ll reach that happiness everyone is seemingly searching for. Many of us know that reality doesn’t always have us fulfilled like clockwork and the above lifestyle isn’t for everyone.
However, I am more excited by what I am seeing on social media recently. There are so many influencers out there who are challenging the status quo, who are finally speaking and reaching out to young people to tell them that there is more to life than blindly following everyone else! There has never been so much opportunity than there is now, especially with the added value of technology. Now amidst all the “influencers” trying to tell you you should run an online business or how you must have millions of followers on Instagram or invest your life savings in Facebook ad’s to be a success – There are actually some really good takeaways for us to recognize here…
1. It’s OK to not know what you want to do with your life or career
2. It’s OK to not have it all figured out yet
3. It’s OK to feel overwhelmed by what we see in the media and on social media channels
4. It’s OK to carve your own path and find your own direction
5. It’s OK to have your own opinion
6. It’s OK to be yourself
7. It’s OK if you think about yourself before others sometimes
8. It’s OK to keep learning
9. It’s OK to change your direction
10. It’s OK to put yourself out there
It’s OK to not be OK ! I’ve noticed a lot of people can be so hard on themselves. They don’t give themselves permission to accept what is. They are so wrapped up in trying to please everyone else and slowly forget about themselves. Once we give ourselves permission to accept where we are that is when we can grow and move forward and find all the answers we need to be fully fulfilled.
If there is one thing you do today, please allow presence and awe to come into your life. Find the power of knowing it’s OK.
