Stay in Recovery
‘The one reason why we relapse is the one reason why we don’t want to admit: we stop working on getting better, because we feel better.
Now, I understand that we normally want to seek help or cry out, when things are unbearable or not going well, but there is a flip side to it. How about getting the help when we are in good space?
We are more receptive when we are well; more open minded when we receive advise. We do more when we are required to work hard for our recovery. We don’t allow the state we are in to be bigger then us. We are in control, and so we have the ability to help ourselves get better.
On the flip side of this reality: we work less on our recovery when we are in bad space, hurt or disappionted. We resist advise and criticism from any source. We don’t want help when we need it most. The goal is not the same- we dont have getting better on our minds when we are not okay.
What we need to do is work hard all the time , not only when things are bad, or when we are in bad shape, or when we have been disappointed.
Work harder when you are better to get better!
