Welcome to your journey to the recovery!!!
Recovery is real; I have recovered, you can too!
First of all, I really admire your commitment to your recovery. That is the first step towards recovery. Congratulations! You decided to get better; and yes, it is your choice! Always, remember that you are the most important person in this journey. Nobody can do it for you.
When you made that choice to recovery, you know what you are choosing, right? Yes, LOVE!
Starting to learn to love yourself, your body and all the things and people are important to you!
How do you start to do that? Good question. Love starts with acceptance. Accept who you are, the way you are, your body and your weight. You wonder if I accept then I can never change? No, the opposite is true. When you accept, then you will be happy and when you are happy you will stop sabotaging yourself and start living! From that place of acceptance and love, you can make changes and it will be fun and joyful. Bulimia will dissolve in love!!!
It is a journey of accepting, loving, learning, and challenging yourself!
Your recovery journey will not be easy. It will be one of the most challenging things you have ever done in your life. It will have ups and downs. Please expect that to happen and be prepared. Because challenges are a part of the journey. You would be learning new skills, to deal with emotions, take direct approach for solving the problems in your life. It will be different and would require work but you can do it! You will do it because you are committed to recover. You choose to live your life in a better way.
It is a journey to love and connecting with your inner soul. You are disconnected with your inner soul when you are bulimic; because you do not allow yourself to experience your emotions and feelings. You block them with the distraction of food, you do not want to feel any unpleasant emotions so you run to food. You eat, you are o afraid of gaining weight; and then you purge. You feel even guiltier about your binge and purge episodes, and you continue the vicious cycle by telling yourself this will be the last time. However, this “last time” never ends. This is not why you came to this planet for. This is not your creator made you for. You have a bigger purpose besides body image, weight and food. During your recovery journey will starting to connect yourself to that bigger purpose.
When you are fully recovered you would be able to maintain good health, freedom to create life you always dreamed of, healthy relationship with food, effective emotion managing skills, self-love and respect, confidence, problem solving skills, fulfillment in life, better relationship with your families and friends, deeper life satisfaction.
I highly recommend you go through this journey with someone who can support you, especially someone who has been through the same process, or a professional mentor. You can contact me for bulimia/eating disorder support coaching if you wish to go through this process with me. It will truly make a big difference if you have someone there who has been through this and share their experiences and give you the exact support you need through your full recovery.
