How can you create the best possible life for yourself?
Have you ever had someone try and take your dream away from you?
We all have dreams. However small or big, a dream exists within all of us. It’s something deep within us that others may not understand or get. Your dream may not be unique to you in your heart, but your perspective of that dream and how you achieve that dream is unique to you. And that is all that matters.
Now, I don’t know what dream you may specifically have, and chances are, you may not have anything to show for that dream at this point in your life – yet it still sits in your heart nagging at you every day.
Maybe you are following someone’s else’s expectations of you. Others may be telling you what YOU should be doing rather than allowing you to just explore your own heart and follow your dream.
So, I’ll ask you this: Have you been doing anything lately to work towards achieving that dream? If nothing, then why not? What is stopping you? Chances are, you have a myriad of excuses that come out when this question is asked. But that doesn’t stop you from continuing to dream.
So, if you’re reading this, you have either become disappointed in yourself to the point of giving up or you have simply not even tried to make your dream a reality. You’re sitting on the sidelines of life.
Some of you already know that going after your dream is hard. It’s hard changing your life. I know because I have been there and am still there today. The reality is, that you will fail time and time again. It’s what you do with that failure that defines your success and your true character. It may seem like there are no open doors, but don’t look the other way, because when you least expect it, a window will crack open. So, embrace those cracked windows, and open them up fully to let the sunshine in.
I also know that it is hard getting out of this stagnant sense of self that we know so many people love to stay in. It’s hard being different from everyone else when you have a dream that is not like everyone else’s.
You know It’s so easy being the same as everyone else. The process of working on your own dreams is difficult and tough. You are going to face a lot of disappointments, a lot of failure, a lot of pain. But don’t ever give up on yourself.
The rough times are inevitable, but they don’t have to define your future or your success.
Achievers don’t let past mistakes and criticism from others define who they are. Your Dreams and talents are all the things that are right about you in this universe; you are one of a kind with a dream that is unique only to you. Don’t lose sight of that.
Greatness is not this wonderful god-like feature or gift that only the special people among us will ever taste, or obtain. Greatness is something that truly exists in all of us. So, it is vital that you believe that you too are capable of reaching greatness. You have to see it, believe it and let it become YOU!
Some of us simply show up everyday and just exist. You live, work, have a family, raise kids and then you die.
But people are becoming too comfortable with the daily routine of life. They stop growing, they stop working on themselves, and they stop pushing themselves. They don’t end up working on their dreams.
Why? One is ‘because of fear. The fear of failure – what if things don’t work out? What if I don’t get want I want? Did I just waste my time? And so, they decide to sit on the sidelines of life forever.
And the second fear is the fear of success – what if I do get what I want and I can’t handle it? What if I make it? Fear exists only in your mind; it is not your reality. And the only way for a man or women to beat that fear is to face it head-on.
Before you can go after your dream, you have to fully know yourself. The toughest battle any man or women will face in their life is the battle of knowing themselves. But unfortunately, the majority of us don’t look into the mirror and truly know who we are – flaws and all. Instead, you spend so much time trying to get others to like you and follow other peoples’ lives on social media, reality TV shows, etc that you end up losing yourself.
So, then you end up knowing other people more than you know yourself. You study them, you know about them, you want to be them. And you know what? You’ve invested so much time in them that you don’t know who you are anymore.
So, I challenge you to spend time by yourself. You’ll be surprised at just how much you discover about yourself when you’re alone. Look in the mirror ask yourself, “Who am I?” “What do I stand for?”
And when you become the person you were meant to be in this world, you’ll start separating yourself from other people, and begin to have your own certain uniqueness. As long as you’re following other people’s dreams and expectations of you,, you will never find your true potential.
And the fact of the matter is, is that not everyone will see your value and greatness, or understand it. So, it then becomes necessary that you align yourself with the right people, and attract people into your business and your life who are ambitious – people who are unstoppable, people who are refusing to live life just as is, and who want more. The people who are living their dreams are finding winners to attach themselves to. The people that are living their dreams are the people that know if it’s going to happen, it’s up to them. Surround yourself with those types of people.
If you want to have and do things that you have never done before, then you have to be willing to do things you have never done before.
The first step is to invest in yourself. And even if you face disappointment along the way, you have to tell yourself: “I can do this. Even if no one sees it for me, I must see it for myself.”
I need you to invest in your mind; invest in yourself. If you are still talking about your dream and your goals, but have not done anything – just take the first step by investing in yourself. Make those around you proud. Leave them with a legacy built on courage, commitment, strength and tenacity. Don’t let anyone steal your dream. And remember a Dream without a plan is nothing more than a wish.
So, be unstoppable. It’s not over until you say it’s over. It’s not over until you win.
