Hire Coaches who walk their talk...

In my private coaching practice, I love to coach other coaches. We are people who dig deep, and have answered the calls of our souls. People who stand for authenticity, empowerment, connection, true love and humanity. We practice and hone our skills in our training programs, with each other, and with our coaches.
Wait. What? You don’t have a coach?
That’s right. Somewhere along the line, some of us coaches believe our work here (within ourselves) is done. We believe in the power of coaching, we talk with clients and potentials all day long about the benefits of not just having a coach – but paying for a coach, the full amount of their worth. And yet, some of us stop walking our talk.
Recently, after a powerful discovery session with a budding coach – she reached out to thank me for the guiding her through an amazing session. The power and the clarity she walked away with were more than she had expected. She also asked for any books, websites, online articles, pdf handouts I might have that would further assist her in developing her coaching skills – in terms of foundational questions, or concepts I go back to everyday.
Here’s the thing….it’s not just about reading, learning and listening to enhance your knowledge of the craft. It’s about doing your own work – with a coach.

Coaching for me is ‘being’ based. It is my job to generate my being, do my own work to move all my ‘stuff’ out of the way to be the purest version of myself – so that I may connect with my clients. This is what creates the space where ALL of my clients’ being is allowed to enter – complete, perfect and whole exactly as is. From here, I get to use multi levels of listening, genuine curiosity and intuition to call people forward from their highest and best.
I work with some of the greatest minds in the ontological coaching realm. Our coaching is ‘scored’ against the 11 Core Competencies of the ICF – which at first may feel like a box to get into. And truly, it is a container of space to hold the being of both coach and client.
To all of the coaches who want to master your craft, I invite you to:
Practice the 11 core competencies, and get feedback on your ‘being’ as coach.
develop practices of exquisite self-care.
create a community that provides ridiculous amounts of support.
look into the teachings of your other disciplines – yoga, meditation, straight talk, boldness, authenticity.
work weekly with a coach you trust to create the results of your heart.
