Don't fall in the Trap of Inventing yourself

What is the difference between inventing yourself and remembering who you are?
There is no inventing yourself. This is an enactment. This is to exchange your clothes, to do a Hobby, to have an opinion.
But to realise who you are, there is nothing to do for you (on one level). Who you really are, you sometimes get to feel, when you feel discomfort because you are feeling something which does not fit in the invented frame of your self narration. Your heart is expressing a feeling which you did not put in your script. The one who you really are, is the one who is underneath all of that. The lowest layer. The one who is always there. Which you can’t even change. This is your essential core.
And there is absolutely nothing to invent. There you don’t need to create anything. You were created that way.
So the difference between inventing yourself and becoming yourself? Imagine a heap of dough- and there are those biscuit cutter to cut out little human shapes. Or you remember those paper puppets which you put dress with little paper clothes? Well becoming yourself is certainly not putting new clothes on, or adding new surrounding for this shaped dough.
You tried to invent yourself because you were told to. The other kids in school had hobbies, went to sports in the afternoon. You had to pick an instrument, your favourite colour.
And that’s how we orient ourselves to the outside demands. And there we lose connection, that we are actually perfected beings which just want to find their place in life. Who want to participate, to take part in life. Remember- you don’t need to invent yourself. The more you let go of that idea, you will naturally just fall into yourself. We were made for this world.
And then all of a sudden you are thrilled to go to work, to wake up. But there is fear at every transition, because you get a sense of the extent of the change that is possibly happening and how much bigger you are.
And when you think why the world is like it is- because of that laziness not to be ourselves but a repetition of somebody else’s copy. It’s the laziness to stay in one’s job, even though it doesn’t fit and fulfill oneself, to keep on meeting those friends that are repeating the same stories, And then we calm ourselves in buying new items like phones, and shoes or take another holiday.
Every time we oppress those symptoms of sadness, pressure and anxiety- we prevent us to really change. Because those “negative” feelings are pushing us to change. They don’t invent a new personality, but we finally let go into our true nature.
