How to Fail an Interview and Gain a Job

Interview failures can help you learn new skills which ultimately help you get the job of your dreams.
My client, Lona, went to her last and final interview for the position with the CEO of a telecommunications company. In her previous job, Lona had a negative interaction with her boss. The CEO asked Lona about her relationship with her last manager and Lona’s body language, facial expressions and tone of voice changed which changed the CEO’s mind about hiring Lona. Lona failed to get the job; she was devastated but not defeated. Together we strategized. Lona called the hiring manager and asked for feedback about her interviews. She learned some positive but some painful information about how she responded when asked about her past job. Together we roleplayed numerous interview scenarios, worked on Lona’s facial expressions and body language and rehearsed answers to difficult questions that Lona might encounter in future interviews. Lona just landed the job of her dreams where her extraverted personality and skill set is both valued and appreciated.
