When reading a resume as Recruiter and a Career Coach, I’ve been train to quickly identify certain words, acronyms, Fortune 500 companies, consultants Big 4, Ivy League Colleges, MBAs and Postgraduate courses in general and finally Certifications. All of these mentioned subjects are eye catchers for us to find potential candidates. The fact that your resume mentions in your letterhead “MBA, PMP” are acronyms that will immediately get the attention of the Recruiter. The Project Management certifications such as: PMP or PMI are one of the most common certifications and could as well help you land the job you are looking for. There are many others that are linked to many different areas and industries like; technology, insurance, Supply Chain, Six Sigma, etc. The advantage of getting a certification is that they are relatively inexpensive could be obtained in short periods of time and can all together with your college degrees and years of experience, substantially increase your salary with a small investment of time and money.
