5 tell-tale signs you need to slow down!

It's important to be attuned and understand your body and mind in order to stay healthy (holistically) and avoid having any panic / anxiety attacks.
YOU’RE RUNNING REALLY FAST BUT YOU’RE GOING NO WHERE.
Everything is just as it should be, yet you’re bored. You have excuses for being lack-lustered. You’ve lost excitement in your life and to make up for it, you been creating drama where it doesn’t need to be. Ouch. You keep falling out with your partner, parents, friends, you stress over what to wear, and the decision between a chicken and avo roll or a tomato toastie is excruciatingly unmanageable. It makes your brain hurt. When was the last time you took a deep breath?
WHAT IS HAPPENING TO YOU?
Nope, you’re not depressed, nope nothing is wrong with you. Chances are your body and mind is stressed out and you need to go on a get-away / holiday.
Stress hormones spike the brain chemical dopamine, which can create a decline in cognitive performance. This can make even easy tasks (say, juggling the laundry, emptying the dishwasher, and signing kids’ permission slips) feel difficult to manage. Also, stress can cause us to stop looking for new ways to approach old tasks because behavior tend to habituate when the brain is under stress. We get locked into doing the same unproductive thing over and over.
WE GET STUCK IN A VORTEX
Here are 5 tell – tale signs that you need to be observant about (in yourself or your loved ones) and plan a vacation to press the refresh button and come back detoxed, revitalized and rejuvenated.
1. Trouble making decisions – If its overwhelming to choose between what cuisine you want to eat today or what font you want to pick. If you’re over-thinking and over-analyzing your answer. If you feel disconnected from your gut and instinct – you need to clean your slate.
2. You’re irritated - Stress is closely related to fear. When we’re afraid that we are at risk, the brain shifts into survival mode. The amygdala, the brain’s fear center, activates fight, flight, or freeze, which makes us aggressive, angry, or defensive. Our plunge into an edgy emotional state is the result of stressing over an imagined threat that doesn’t exist.
3. Criticize and focus on flaws - We’re more inclined to argue, blame, criticize, and withhold affection. We’re more likely to judge the relationship as negative and blame our loved one for a problem, not realizing that stress is distorting our perception. We’re insecure, low on energies and feel intimidated and weak. This back-lashes in the form of retaliating, being judge-mental and negative with and around our loved ones. We have attached too much negativity around our aura and desperately are calling out for a cleanse.
4. Stress-eating /binge-eating - Two-thirds of people eat more under stress, while the rest eat less. The stress hormone glucocorticoid stimulates appetite, and it can take hours to clear from the blood stream, prompting emotionally charged overeating. While sometimes stress is okay, if you allow it to positively influence you and/or challenge you towards doing better – but if you catch yourself eating a lot of unhealthy food and you have crossed the line of ’’indulging’’ and are not just binge-eating, then it’s time to stop and take notice.
5. Getting forgetful, lazy and less social - Stressful days keep your brain’s stress response system turned on almost nonstop. It dumps stress hormones into the blood system, which in turn accelerates heart rate and respiration. This system uses a lot of energy and can make us feel exhausted by the end of the day. People tend to isolate when they’re chronically stressed, but this can make stress even harder to cope with. Stress causes memory lapse, attention issues, and hinders your higher brain’s ability to plan and execute.
If you or your loved one is presenting these tell-tale signs then it’s about time you plan a nice get away either to the beach or the mountains, disconnected from the normality of life, be in a new surrounding and environment and refresh your energies and aura.
You will come back rejuvenated to take on your life with a fresh perspective and goals and be charged enough to start making the most of your today. Listen to your body and mind when they talk to you, they’re often communicated in the form of these signs when they’re overwhelmed and taxed and need a break. Be more attuned to understanding yourself. Slow down, before you have a panic or anxiety attack and it’s too late.
