Are you ready to take this exciting journey with the right coach to achieve the desired result in the areas which are important to you?
Since the coaching requires valuable resources like time, money and sharing some of the confidential information, the question is as to how do I find who is the right coach for me and what is the guarantee that I will produce the desired outcomes (goals). The following may help you to come out with the right choice of a coach for yourself,
1. How comfortable you are working with the coach?
2. Can you trust him?
3. Does he demonstrate the quality of a professional coach such as non-critical, non-judgemental, deep listening, empathy, challenging, holding accountability, respectful, integrity, punctual, helps you open the choices and options, giving positive feedback and more?
4. Does he have the background experience which is aligned to your profession?
5. Does he have professional certification from ICF or CCA and has he gone through the structured training
6. Is he relaxed and sound confident?
7. Do you feel empowered, confident in his presence and after the session?
8. Does he support you move forward?
9. Do you feel motivated, excited and look forward to talking to your coach and coaching sessions?
10. Is he easily accessible?
11. Is he truly committed to you achieving the success?
12. He does not give you advise and helps you explore what is best for you?
13. Is the relationship between you and coach a co-creative (equals/ally) and not a parental, junior senior or boss and subordinate?
14. He allows to speak a minimum of 70 to 80% of the time during the coaching session?
15. Does he ask the empowering question which helps you find your own answers that help you have Aha moment, greater learning, enhanced awareness and taking responsibility, discovering the limiting beliefs?
16. Provides a safety net for you to go and play full out
17. No coach is expected to give the guarantee that you will reach goal as coach role is one of the facilitator, you must be suspicious if your coach gives a guaranteed success.
18. Does the coach provide you flexibility to exit the coaching process if you are not satisfied with the progress and want to discontinue the coaching?
19. Do speak with few coaches to see the right match for you.
