Who you are, your personality, your values and beliefs, all that makes up YOU, effects your life and business and your ultimate success in both.
Who you are, your personality, your values and beliefs, all that makes up YOU, effects your life and your business. By seeking to become a better, more developed person, you find the necessary tools to achieve success both personally and professionally. You learn your strengths and weaknesses, your likes and dislikes, your dreams and goals. You learn how to motivate yourself, gain direction and how to set goals on where you want to go in life and how to get there.
But, what is success? How do you define it? Success is achieving a goal or milestone that you have determined makes you feel you have accomplished something significant and usually this achievement has a perceived or tangible reward attached. These goals differ from person to person and also differ in importance. Just as two people are never alike, neither are their definitions of success. Yes, as a society, there are some generally accepted standards of success, such as wealth, but there are those who could care less about money.
So, how about you? What goals have you set in your life that indicate success? Do you want to loose 20 pounds? Do you want that promotion? Have you signed up new clients this week or month? Did you figure out how to stop the fighting between your children? All these and any other success goals can be effected by personal development and understanding.
Lets look at these examples. First, losing weight, making a commitment or promise to yourself, also called personal integrity, is a hard one, possibly the hardest for anyone to fully accomplish. By taking small steps and building self-confidence, this effects the outcome and the weight comes off.
Secondly, what about that promotion? What qualities and/or talents is the boss looking for? By developing yourself, you can improve these traits and be more desirable for the position.
Next, did you get the new clients? Was it you or other circumstances that effected the outcome? Getting to better know how you operate can provide clarity and from there, action plans can be formulated to make it happen.
Lastly, you got the children to stop fighting! Did you negotiate, set boundaries, clarify positions? These are skills that can be learned and used at home or work.
Bottom line, YOU make YOU succeed in all aspects of life!!
