What is Gout?
Some things to do to avoid getting Gout.
Some Treatments to help with Gout.
First let’s talk little about Gout. What is Gout? Gout is a high amount of Uric Acid in one or more joint(s) (most common places that Gout occurs are in your big toe, feet, ankles, knees, elbows and or your wrist), in a blood test your Uric Acid, Serum will be at 7.1mg/dl and above. This build-up of Uric Acid in the body crystallizes and you get Gout Spikes which are very sharp and feels like tiny pins or daggers in the joints that are very painful and causes the area to become inflamed. Our body then send white blood cells to the affected area to fix the problem as a healing response but it only makes the area that is inflamed to become worse because the white blood cells are popped by the sharp Uric Acid Crystals and causes more pain.
The pain can be aggravated by clothing or anything touching or covering the area. Pain killers, soaking in Epson salt, wrappings, crying and praying will not make the pain go away.
SOME THINGS TO AVOID THAT MAY HELP
Eating Alkaline foods and drinking Alkaline beverages will help your body to ward off issues like Gout. Having a pH balance lifestyle will reduce the overload of Uric Acid and decrease the inflammation in the body. Don’t forget about your water, you need good Alkaline water to flush your system.
Meats to avoid:
Bacon, Beef, Chicken, Duck, Ham, Liver, Kidney, Pork, Turkey, Veal and Venison.
Seafood to avoid:
Anchovies, Codfish, Crab, Haddock, Herring, Lobster, Mussels, Oysters, Sardines, Shrimp, Scallops and Trout.
Beverages to avoid:
Alcoholic products and Sugary Drinks (sugar/high fructose corn (syrup)).
TREATMENT
If you must have any of the meats, seafood or beverages listed above it is recommended that they be in moderation (limit to once or twice weekly) to keep the Gout from being enflamed and remember to drink lots of Alkaline water (16 to 32 ounces).
For the pain concentrated Oregano works well but it is strong and is recommended to be capped when ingesting.
Doctors will prescribe Indomethacin or Methyl Prednisone (Steroids) to control Gout.
My suggestion is the to look at the ingredients of each. I found the most common ingredients are: Tart Cherry, Celery Seed, Turmeric.
