Is Coaching for Me?

Does it seem like you've worked hard, done everything your supposed to, but feel lackluster and disengaged with your work or life?
“Is coaching for me?”, you ask?
Does it seem like you’ve worked hard, done everything your supposed to, but feel lackluster and disengaged? Do you want to leap into an exciting new direction, but are not sure which way to go, are scared of having to start over, or fear you will end up with less than you have now?
Are you going back and forth, one minute accepting that you may have settled but feeling grateful you have security — and the next telling yourself that you only have one life to live?
You are not alone.
The truth is, you are fortunate if you don’t feel this way. Why? Because in our society, you are raised to fit into the system rather than to discover and grow your unique potential. You are asked to “measure up” rather than take root and excel from the natural intersection of your gifts, passions, skills, and values.
Unless you are one of those lucky ducks who knew what they wanted to be at aged 7 and are happily living that dream, your “strong suit” may not have ever been identified. Or, maybe your talents and interests were not encouraged. So you ended up following a path that someone else set out for you.
As a result, you are now lodged in a position that, while you’ve learned the skills to do it, does not reflect your true gifts, personality type, passions, or values. At this point, you may not even have a clue what you desire to do.
There is good news.
There are tools and assessments that highlight your strengths, personality type, values, interests, gifts, and skills. In my experience, I’ve found no one of these tools is especially powerful alone but, when considered together, they intersect and point to your unique potential. I have gathered a preferred set of tools that allow me to objectively overlay the results, so I can bring into focus:
+ who you really are,
+ why you are not happy where you are,
+ why you feel unmotivated or disengaged,
+ why it is OK for you to be the way you are,
+ how to succeed being more true to yourself,
+ what areas you should avoid, and
+ what is a good fit for your future.
With this information, we create a compass pointing towards a naturally rewarding career path, a fulfilling lifestyle and/or more supportive relationships.
You may ultimately decide to stay where you are and tweak the circumstances, ask for different responsibilities, or manage yourself differently in order to increase your happiness. Or, if you do decide to go in an all-together different direction, you can do so with confidence that it will be aligned with the best parts of who you are and that you will be able to maintain your drive and stay engaged in the long run.
I believe you can get there … and you don’t have to do it alone.
Once you are set on how to improve your situation and which direction to head, we can work together to remove hidden blocks and limiting beliefs, master new skills, and effectively market yourself or launch a new endeavor.
