Real World Problems-Experience Matters

Business coaching has fantastic ideas and strategies to solve problems. How do I know they work when hiring my business coach?
When coaching clients, they often state the problems they are having in their business, and then ask how can they be sure they work. Here is the harsh reality, every business has a unique set of problems that needs to be addressed in order to reach their business goals. At the end of the day, experience matters. When offering advice to my clients, I remind them that I still run my own company and it has a unique set of challenges, while some are similar to what my clients are facing. I give them real world experience on how to solve the problem. Theory is great, but when it comes to application, my clients like hearing that I have been in the same position as them many times before.
Business coaching should come from experience. To this day, I am still encountering obstacles when reaching my business goals. The problem solving, developing new strategies and working towards a large goal with baby steps, gets me fired up each day. My goal is to invoke this passion in my clients. Business problems and obstacles are part of growing a business. How you manage, apply strategies and overcome those obstacles, sets apart a business owner from and entrepreneur.
Try using these strategies to overcome your next business obstacle:
1) Identify, Develop, Apply
Identify what has become an obstacle in your business. Develop a simple strategy that can help solve that problem. Apply the solution and monitor response. Remember, every obstacle has a solution. How you react to the obstacle will determine if it is a speed bump or a mountain.
2) Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
You will not have all of the answers to solve each problem. That is where your business coach comes in. Ask your coach about how they solved this problem in their business, or a problem similar.
3) L. E. A. D.
Learn
Evolve
Act
Develop
Learn from the obstacles you encounter. They will always make your business stronger in the long term.
Evolve with your industry. Try not to get bogged down just because “that is the way you have always done that task”. Evolve and try new strategies.
Act when there is an obstacle or problem immediately. Waiting, ignoring or overlooking the issue will only compound the problem down the road.
Develop strategies to make your business structured. Structure will help identify issues earlier and make clear solutions to solve the issue.
