3 Steps to easier decision making
With so many choices to make in life, making sound decisions can sometimes be a real challenge. Below are 3 steps that will make decision making a whole lot easier.
Step 1 – Make sure you are “repleted”
Decision making can be very hard if you are tired, hungry or just had a long day. In order to make sure that your decisions are sound, make sure that you are not making decisions when you are depleted of energy and save those decisions for when you are rested.
Step 2 – Decide on an acceptable number of options you are going to investigate within a set time frame
An example of this could be when you are shopping for a new computer – narrow down to only two options and give yourself half an hour before you make a decision. Also, after making a decision, celebrate the benefits of that decision and stop comparing further alternative decisions you could have made.
Step 3 – Establish rules to live by
Creating rules to live by will greatly simplify your life and narrow down your options that will make decision making significantly easier. For example, when going to a restaurant ask the waiter what is most popular foods on the menu and only choose from those options. Another rule to live by could be to say only eat sugar on Thursdays.
By implementing these three easy steps in your life it can make decision making significantly easier and help you at making better decisions.
