What eating psychology is about?
What are the types of stress?
How does stress affect our relationship with food?
I am sure all of you have gone through phases when you ate a lot without caring and you must have also been through times when you just did not feel like eating at all. As an eating coach I am so glad to have found the opportunity to discuss eating problems with you so you can make a better meal plan for yourself in future. I have come across many people who face various issues related to eating and food. There are people who are head over heels for food while others are just frightened to eat something because they fear they may end up gaining weight. I have also come across people who have a messed up routine they eat their main course at night while others eat their main course in the morning.
These various types of relationships of eating habits can be devastating and in this article I will be discussing these variations. Have you ever seen a baby crying on the top of his lungs just because he is angry, I am sure yes. Same is the case with adults like us who want to eat when they are hungry otherwise they just get cranky and the moment they get something to eat their body immediately relaxes and they go into an ultimate state of soothing experiences, moreover they also attain the energy to remain active and motivated throughout the day. A new research has revealed that more than 90% people eat a lot more when stressed.
There are various types of stresses that a human mind may encounter such as
1. Time to time stress:
This type of stress occurs when we get injured or run out of time. This stress also occurs when we have to meet deadlines. Students face it when they have an assignment and project due for submission.
2. Self-Chosen stress:
This is the major type of stress that we will be taking under consideration, this occurs when we have that self-loathing phenomenon in ourselves. This requires a fundamental approach rather than over-romanticizing a situation. People often go through this type of stress and end up having anxiety and depression. They continue to feel inferior and put themselves in an ultimate state of disparity that can lead to various other psychological problems. People continue to compare themselves to perfect and thin model images that they watch on TV and when they can’t be as perfect as them they feel inferior and start hating themselves. This type of stress is self-chosen.
For now I believe you just need to get rid of these types of stresses so you can go out and enjoy yourself. Being yourself is the most important thing to do when you go out into this world and you cannot let self-chosen stress shake you or bring you down. Some people even put their life on halt when they find it difficult to manage, instead of improving and working on their figure they just retrieve from the society and go into isolation but this is not the way we should fight and not let these food problems and figure problems bring us down in any way. Dieting will not work for a person who goes on and blames himself all the time in fact this type of stress will only increase his weight. In these sessions we will be working on guiding you to improve your inner soul by resisting stress of any sort.
