Who Are You Letting in Your House?

The space around you is highly valuable - who you let come across the thresh hold matters intensely. Use authority to protect your personal zip code.
Your house is a agent of protection and renewal. You wouldn’t just let a stranger in, knowing he may cause you harm. Your body and mind are also a type of house – ask yourself who you are allowing to come in and cause wreckage. Do you intentionally block and reject foolishness that heads in your direction? How do you address protecting the shelter of your soul/spirit?
Someone once told me that as far as relationships go, there are 4 types of people. Those who add to you, subtract from you, divide (distract and diminish) you, and those who multiply you. Guess what – these 4 types are not equally represented in the world’s population, i.e. there are not 25% adders, 25% subtractors, etc. As a matter of fact, there is overrepresentation in a couple of groups and quite a minority in the others. It is necessary to address all 4 because they are all jockeying for face time with you.
The Adders. These people are your balancers. You feel good around them; they allow you to be yourself and they complement your personality. When in the company of an adder, you find yourself smack dab in the middle of your comfort zone.
The Subtractors. These people specialize in pulling or putting you down. They really are not happy unless they are towering over you – emotionally or psychologically. What makes them tick? Low self esteem and fear of loss (of power, position or popularity) – are just two things that drive them. If success is absent in their life, they get a power surge by and feel victorious by putting you “under them”.
The Dividers. Distracting you is the name of their game – whether from your mission, your focus, or your productivity levels. Distractions can be very subtle because sometimes they appear harmless – just an alternative to your principle mission – maybe even as fun, or more fun. So it can be a choice between two good things. The dividers hope you select option B, which they present to you regularly. Of course option B always gets you off course, further away from your goals.
The Multipliers. These people are walking in abundance. Because of their own confidence level and understanding of the laws of nature, they give practically all of the time. They pour into you, your dreams and your visions. Multipliers help to make you better than you used to be and recognize that they can give to you without risking a depletion of their personal assets. They are resourced from a bottomless pit and are actually reconstituted by giving of themselves.
Adders, Subtractors, Dividers, Multipliers. Who are you allowing to take up residence in your space? You are in charge of your own atmosphere and he who takes a firm position often has your permission, authorization, and invitation.
CLUE: If you want more multipliers in your space, become a multiplier – and like will attract like.
