It all started when I saw an article in the Smithsonian on predictions for 2050. I decided to do my own thinking and write my own before I read the submissions by top leaders. I had fun with this and invite you to write your own “predictions” and send them to me. Quick – jot a few things down before you read mine!

Coaching will become very important in changing the memes that get passed down about how the world works, God, self, and what it means to live a fulfilling life. People value quality of life and the desire to be all they can be above “having” it all.

People will:
• Have much more self-awareness
• Work from home
• Turn back to neighbors and neighborhoods for social needs, essentials, food, clothing, emergencies and possibly spirituality.
• Do more locally
• Live closer to the earth again and appreciate it all the more
• Nations will fear nuclear weaponry and bio weaponry more and more and will take greater measures to control and protect.
• Isolation will be a problem and new social groups may spring up to fill this need
• Travel will be more focused on pleasure and trips, and education vs. Little things, errands and the mall.
• A new spirituality will arise and challenge the status quo of spiritual insititutions
• Commerce will focus more and more on services and leisure and less on accumulation
• We will find clean fuel alternatives

• Manual labor will become almost cool with a new emphasis on physical fitness that is more balanced and natural
  • Some people will get lazier and fatter and sicker, but the educated will become more fit, healthy and active
  • Health will be seen as a huge part of quality of life but without fear of death
  • Other wise leaders will be raised up to fill Obama’s shoes – a new standard will emerge for leaders world wide based on a sense of justice and freedom for all, protecting the earth, tolerations and even cooperation among people’s of different persuasions, respect, and courage to do the right thing.
  • Materialism and commercialism will still be rampant, but higher standards will raise the bar for integrity in advertising and delivering of goods and services.
• People will stop tolerating politics as usual, mud-slinging and slander, emotional unintelligence, crime, abuse, corruption
  • Citizens who rise up to do the right thing will be protected
  • Nations will work together on poverty, disease, education, and healthcare
  • Culture and art, music will become again, the entertainment and esthetic choice of the future
  • A wide variety of spirituality will be recognized and respected
  • People will respect their own religious choice and not be ashamed of it or force it on others
  • Education will be a top priority in America, down to the least and last
  • Green will be a given everywhere all the time and may become the highest priority in the nation and world over defense
  • People will WANT to be green because they value the earth
  • Even cities will become green and clean, causing a return to city dwelling that is not coerced
  • Retreating will be commonplace, to get back to nature and reconnect with themselves and rest
  • Green will include quiet. Noise pollution will not be tolerated any more than other pollution
  • More people will see all people as equally deserving of opportunity, respect and power and wealth
  • People will value relationships as a top priority
  • Family will be honored and appreciated but not closed
  • Work and “getting ahead” will be secondary to quality of life
  • Money will be seen again as a means of exchange of value vs. being an idol
  • There will be a strong return to family owned, and other small businesses, local, and service oriented. Brands will not command the trust of the public more than local business or vise versa.
  • Beauty will be valued more than ever in our history
  • People will value history but not try to hold on to the past because the present is so beautiful
  • The future will not be feared
  • People will define wealth and success on their own terms
  • Grace and hope will abound
  • Coaching is here to stay
